Julio Croda is a physician and epidemiologist at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ) and Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS), Brazil. He holds a PhD in Pathology and serves as a researcher at FIOCRUZ’s Mato Grosso do Sul unit, where he leads field studies on vaccine-preventable diseases. In 2019, he directed the Department of Immunization and Communicable Diseases at Brazil’s Ministry of Health. Dr. Croda was a principal investigator in Brazil’s first rollout of the TAK-003 dengue vaccine (Qdenga) and has contributed to studies evaluating its effectiveness and safety in endemic settings. His research integrates field epidemiology, Real-world studies, and pharmacovigilance to generate evidence for dengue vaccination strategies.
