Ana Bento is an Assistant Professor of Infectious Disease Epidemiology in the Department of Public and Ecosystem Health at Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, where she leads the Bento Lab. Her research integrates disease ecology, pathogen evolution, and spatiotemporal modeling to understand the emergence and transmission of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, with recent work on Oropouche virus, chikungunya, and measles resurgence in the U.S. and Brazil. She has held prior faculty and leadership roles at Indiana University and the Rockefeller Foundation’s Pandemic Prevention Initiative.
