With more than 15 years of experience in clinical development across different therapeutic areas in global companies, she has been Chief Medical Officer at Instituto Butantan since 2022. The institute is a public laboratory in Brazil that has been leading development programmes to address unmet medical needs in Brazil, including studies in arboviroses, such as dengue and chikungunya as well as influenza. In the past years, she led the clinical programme for Butantan-DV, a single dose dengue vaccine, under regulatory review for approval. She also led the chikungunya vaccine development in Brazil, the first study for that product to be held in an endemic area.
