Dr. Heather Friberg is a Research Microbiologist and Chair of the Virus-Host Interactions Department in the Viral Disease Program at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. She is also the DoD Lead for the Dengue Human Infection Model (DHIM) Program. Dr. Friberg’s research interests are rooted in investigating immune responses to viral pathogens and translating that knowledge into vaccination strategies and development of countermeasures that reduce the impact of infectious disease. Her primary focus is understanding cell-mediated immunity to dengue virus infection and vaccination in humans.
