Dr. Laura E. Adams is a veterinary epidemiologist with the CDC Dengue Branch in the Division of Vector-Borne Diseases, based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She leads the Dengue Branch Epidemiology Team, supporting domestic and international efforts to strengthen dengue surveillance, prevention, and research. Her work includes leadership of the U.S. national dengue surveillance system, a sentinel hospital surveillance network in Puerto Rico, and large community-based studies evaluating interventions to reduce the burden of dengue and other vector-borne diseases. Dr. Adams is committed to advancing evidence-based strategies to reduce the global impact of dengue and other emerging vector-borne diseases.
